I have found it annoying to only be able to find the plastic, unattractive black signs with flourescent orange writing "Beware of the Dog", to be able to let people know there are dogs in the yard.  To me, it almost feels like - I may as well hang out a sign that says "waiting to be sued".  With all the time we put into keeping our yard looking nice, who wants to hang this sign that resembles a stark highway or "caution wet floors" sign.  So I decided to bring a little softer, more attractive, sometimes even humorous touch to being able to get the message to people that there are dogs in the yard, while at the same time, bringing a little decoration into the mix.  Ideas are welcome and custom is always available.  I would love to hear your ideas on sayings.  These signs are painted on a piece of slate and come with predrilled holes and a leather hanger.  Protective coating applied to protect your sign from the hardship of weather. 

Here are some sayings I have come up with - and of course there will be some artwork to go along with it:

"I can make it to the fence in 3.5 seconds, CAN YOU?"

"Don't make me come out there"

"Be thankful we can't talk"

"Beware of affectionate dog"

"Flesh is my favorite appetizer" (ok, maybe not .. HEE HEE)

"Beware of land mines"

"if your hand is smaller than my paw, please give me time before petting me"

"Warning, I haven't fully exercised today, so if you enter, I will probably jump on you"

"I bark, I jump, I lick, I beg you to throw the ball - if you cannot deal with that, please do not enter"

"Looks of a lion, Acts of a kitten"

"My outer shell is intimidating, my inner soul is sweet"
