The one who can sometimes make you blush
The one you can laugh with til your gut just busts
The person you miss when you don't see often
The one you know can make your day soften
The person who gets you, who really knows
Your passions in life and what makes you grow
The one who has interests the same as your own
The one who loves you down to the bone
The one who doesn't judge you on a bad day
Instead lets you say what you need to say
The friend who you want everyone to meet
Because she's so wonderful and very sweet
The friend who is someone you know
That you never want to let go
That friend is you and I love you so much
I never want us to lose touch

And I don't think I'm ready just yet

You see when we go there, there are all these things

And pure anxiety is what it brings

Yes I get treats and they taste really good

But I think I am very misunderstood

I try to give them a look and a snare

Hoping that makes them not even dare

To pull out that needle and give me a shot

Happiness to me, this is not

I'd rather stay home and play with my ball

Or come running to you as my name you call

But please don't take me back to the vet

Although I think you will, I'm willing to bet

I know that it's only because you care

That you continue to take me back there

I see the clouds in the form of a tree

I look at my dogs and the reflection in their eyes

They are reflecting an image from up in the sky

I look at an insect and I can see

A beautiful photograph, waiting for me

I step outside and the winds in my face

And it takes me to a familiar place

The smell in the air reminds me today

Of a similar instance on a different day

I look at the sun and feel the heat

I sit down on the steps to get off my feet

I look at the rings I have on my hands

They each have a meaning for which they stand

I look at my walls and you may see white

I see a color in a different light

I hear my dog howl, you may think it's a bark

I hear a song in a form of art

You see a person, older in age

I see someone who's conversation to engage

You may see wrinkles on someones face

I see a life of laughter and grace

I look at my life and I can see

All of the things that make me happy

Another page of my life unfolds

On with the new, out with the old

I'm changing my career, embarking on my dreams

I'm listening to that voice as oddly as that seems

I am letting go of things that trapped me

And I'm chasing my dreams that make me happy

I'm looking forward and never behind

To only the things healthy for my mind

I've allowed some things to poison my being

It took many years to begin seeing

And so now I begin my daily dose

Of only the things in which I love most

I vow I will never allow poison back to my soul

As I begin my journey to again, become whole

I will grab onto life and enjoy every day

Because here in happiness is where I will stay

Right here I promise is where I will stay

In happiness and halth every single day

He sits down at the table and wonders why he is this man

He's a man who doesn't know how to treat people right

Yet he's successful and smart but acts like a demon in the night

He puts fear in the people who he loves the most

He never allows anyone to become too close

He gets another coffee and sits back down

He sometimes wishes he didn't live in a small town

The people who know him really well

Will never ever truthfully tell

What a controlling, temperamental man he can be

They let the people see whatever they see

He's fully aware of the damage he's done

To the people he loves most as he looks up to the sun

He gets up from his chair and hangs his head low

The damage has been done but he hopes it doesn't show

He wants to be better but part of him can't 

He lives his life in a downward slant

He thinks if he ignores the way that he acts

His act of a better man will stay intact

They're the wonderful couple
who've given so much,
and who bring love and joy
to the lives that they touch

They're two special people
who willingly share,
who are never too busy
to listen and care

They're the ones who encourage
and patiently guide,
Who think of their children

with genuine pride...

They're the two special people
who share laughter and tears
the ones who have been there
through out all of our years

The meals that you cooked, the places we went

The company you kept during our stay

The sites that we saw, every single day

This was a trip, different from the rest

To us we think it was the very best

It was nice to bond with the both of you

Seeing where you live and what you do

Thank you again for letting us stay

I'm sure we'll be back again some day

Treat yourself to a brand new toy

Holidays are supposed to bring laughter and cheer

What have you done to have fun this year?

Every passing day we must do one thing

In which enjoyment and laughter it will bring

With the blink of an eye we're starting a new year

And what good is a year without any cheer

We all get busy and tend to forget

That the day's almost over and we haven't had fun yet

The days turn to months and quickly to years

Next thin you know, another is here

So kick off your shoes, plug in the tree

Sing Christmas songs and have a cup of tea
