The custom sap buckets take me anywhere from 20 - 30 hours (sometimes more) to paint. There are many hours spent painting, communicating with my client and ensuring a beautiful, high quality end product reflecting something personal to each client. Thank you all for your patronage!
Sap buckets will soon be a thing of the past as society moves to the more modern technology of maple sugaring. Having one of these hand painted sap buckets will someday (soon) be a rare treasure - as rare as an 8 track player, only much prettier.
SAP BUCKETS:
$85.00 - This would be a sap bucket (painted all the way around the bucket) that I created on my own of flowers, barns, or whatever my imagination brought me to (or if you say you would like something and don't care what .. as long as you really mean that). No custom painting is included in this price.
$125 - Custom - I can do it and you won't be sorry. Just send me a picture or tell me the name of the place, your favorite football team, your dream car - and I will google it and see what I can find. I can add pets, names, sayings - anything but people (well, I could do the backs or silouettes of people for sure - just not faces). I am a very detailed person and I see details in your pictures you may not even see yourself. I can take things out you don't want in there or add things you would like as well. The painting goes all the way around the bucket. Painting a custom bucket takes me an average of 20 hours (often longer) - it is a process of layering, details, layering, details .. you get the idea ..
$125 - the Story Bucket Series - This is where you tell me about your life (or the recipient this is for), send me a few pictures if necessary, and I will create a functional scrapbook type painting, all the way around the bucket with individual "photos" and sayings on the rim of the pictures. These take extra time since I engulf myself into your story, your pictures and the detail that is involved in being sure I capture your memories. There is usually conversation back and forth either via email or phone to get any other details I may need. It is really unique and everyone who has ordered one so far has said the result was way more than they ever had imagined it would be. The fun thing is .. we are BOTH surprised at the end product.

The process: First, the sap buckets are sanded, if there is any rust. Then they are washed and dried. Then it is prime painted with a rust resistant paint inside and out (most often black because it just looks sharp). Then the artistry begins. Next, the bucket is signed by me, sprayed with a protective finish, tied with a "Simply Said by Priscilla" tag - and whala .. done.

The process: First - the most unique bottles are hand picked. Next - the labels are removed - a tedious process considering the glue used is usually really on there good. Then the bottles are sanitized inside. After that, a hand painted creation is added to the bottle. A spout is put on - and the bottle is sprayed with a protective spray.

WINDOWS
$190.00 - $300.00 depending on the size and painting (most of the windows are Large - 4 or 6 pane windows)
The process: First - the frame is sanded (an extremely time consuming project since the windows are old and usually have layers of flaking paint on them). Then the frame is painted or stained. Next, the glass is primed. Then, the creation begins with a beautiful painting. A hanger is put on the back. The window is sprayed with a protective coating - and then it is ready for it's new home.
Welcome Slates (includes leather or black rope hanger)
Prices range from $50 - $125 - depending on what it is you're having painted and the size of the slate
Expression Slates (slates with just words)
Range from $15 - $35 (depending on size and content)
The process: First - a visit to the quarry where the best pieces are hand picked. Next the slate is washed and dried. Then - the artistry begins - a hand painting is done on the slate - custom with your name, address, etc if you so choose. Then - the holes are drilled. Then - a leather or black rope hanger is put on. Last - it is sprayed with a protective finish
Slate Ornaments -
$10 Unique random shaped slate ornaments with ribbon to hang. Paws with your pets name, snowmen, birds, winter scenes, barns, remembrance and much more. These are not available for custom orders (other than adding a name) as the surface is too small for precise detail (your dog, your house, etc). How can you beat this .. it's custom, it's hand made and it's made in Vermont ..
