The beginning of that magical 5th year .. ..

I always hear this: "Everything takes 5 years to really develop and take off - you have to give something 5 years and at the end of 5 years, if it hasn't taken off, then you need to stand back and re-evaluate it".  Well this month marks the beginning of the 5th year as Simply Said by Priscilla.  I am very excited to see what this magical year will bring.  Each year I have discovered something new to paint, something different to paint on and my business has grown in leaps and bounds each year - which is very very exciting.  To think I get to do something that I truly LOVE and make a business out of it, seems like every persons dream.  I feel very fortunate to be living the dream.  It's because of all of you that I have made it this far and am looking forward to working with all of you in the years to come.  Thank you for your patronage and for the ability to unleash my creativity.

It's a National Geographic kind of month

I have always been drawn to beautiful photography.  It's not uncommon to find me browsing through the photos from National Geographic for sometimes hours.  It's something that makes me feel happy.  I'm a real big shutterbug and spend more time on the golf course snapping pictures than playing golf some times.  But it's rare that I can get a "National Geographic" kind of picture - you know, the clarity and crispness of that perfect photograph.  I finally took the plunge and bought myself a Nikon D5100 with 3 lenses and have already started exploring with it.  I'd love to try and find a way to pull my photography into my works of art.  Once I have a nice collection of photos, I'll likely be at least making photo greeting cards.  There's a whole lot of learning that goes along with the fantastic photos though .. it's going to be a long, but enjoyable journey.  Happy Birthday to me!

Happy New Year

As we say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012, I'm wishing you and your family a healthy, happy new year.  I will have plenty of new creations this year as I begin my fifth year as Simply Said by Priscilla.  I'm excited to see what this year will bring.  Thanks for stopping by and please remember to check back often, as I am always adding new pieces of art on here.  My latest - an aluminum stewed tomato can that is now my paint brush container .. all painted up and looking very cool!

Christmas has come and gone

I can't even believe how quickly the Christmas Holiday came and went this year.  This was my busiest Christmas so far with painting.  Now that the hussle and bussle is behind us, I will be spending some time on some new creations.  I have several recycled windows I am going to paint and will be introducing some new Christmas Tree ornaments later in the year as well.  Thank you all who ordered something this year.  Looking forward to another great year.  Happy Holidays to you and your families.
