Hand painted recycled coffee containers, with a slit in the top and a bunch of cut up various colored papers. Every time something good happens during 2013, write it down, put it in the slot, and on 1/1/14, sit down and read them all. You'll be amazed at all the great things that happened throughout the year, you forgot about. We tend to remember the bad more than the good. Happy New Year everyone!

What a fantastic show! I donated 2 items for the silent auction to help raise money for a few very worthy causes. One was a sap bucket with tons of dog stuff on it and the other was a set of 4 coasters, dog themed (I have pictures of both on my website). I am a huge fan of Cesar's and it was an honor to be able to have some of my artwork there to help support his efforts.

Just a friendly note to let you know, it isn't even October yet and I currently have 21 orders to get done between now and Christmas. Projects I'm currently working on ..

It's been a while since I've written anything in here .. so I thought I'd just pop in and let you know some of the projects I'm currently working on .. I have a mailbox (photos are on here even though it isn't finished) in the works - this is a first ever (it was a special request and the mailbox was dropped of at the house). I also have a very unique saw that someone has dropped off for me to paint their sugar shack on .. that should be very cool. I have a canvas painting to do in sepia tones of a house from a very old photo. I also have 30 slate coasters in progress, each of a different ship (the client works for a cruise ship company). And then, of course, I have several sap buckets in the works. I'm certainly staying busy and am enjoying getting to know so many wonderful people out there. Enjoy the rest of the Summer, and be sure to check back often. I have new pictures on here all the time.

It's almost Memorial Day

Wow .. time is just flying. I am so excited about all the orders that have come in since being featured on WCAX Made In Vermont .. Be sure to check in often as new pieces are being posted on here all the time. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to fit in golf with my "real" job, my painting and my flower gardens (oh yeah, and of course my 2 German Sheps) but it will all come together .. sometimes you just have to step away and swing the club.

I've been thinking about this for months, since I was on my way to work one day and got held up waiting for the train to cross. As I sat there .. initially annoyed that I was being delayed by 8 minutes for this train, I started to watch each of the box cars go by, with grafitti on them and the wheels started to turn in my own head as they turned on the train. I am going to try this .. a Vermont scenery with a train, that goes all the way around the bucket. Each box car will have something painted on it representing someting in my life .. maybe even graffiti style. This will be my example for others to think about putting pieces of their own life on one for a custom order. Stay tuned. Happy Spring everyone!

What's happened since being featured on WCAX Made in Vermont ..

Happy Spring everyone. It certainly is a breath of fresh air to wake up and hear the birds chirping outside. Well, it's been 2 weeks since WCAX Made in Vermont did a segment on Simply Said by Priscilla and I am so excited about all of the interest this has brought in. I am still running into people who are commenting about the piece - a very fun time for me. The orders are rolling in, the emails and cards from people commenting about it are too. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get my story out there. This was certainly something on my "bucket" list. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support!

Exciting News

As we embark in the prime of maple sugaring season, what better story to feature on WCAX Made in Vermont, than something about sap buckets? Well .. my story. That's right, I am going to be featured on WCAX Made in Vermont soon. Stay tuned for an update on when it will be aired. I am very excited to share my story of how I have a hand in helping to bring a little piece of Vermont into homes across the country.

I always hear this: "Everything takes 5 years to really develop and take off - you have to give something 5 years and at the end of 5 years, if it hasn't taken off, then you need to stand back and re-evaluate it". Well this month marks the beginning of the 5th year as Simply Said by Priscilla. I am very excited to see what this magical year will bring. Each year I have discovered something new to paint, something different to paint on and my business has grown in leaps and bounds each year - which is very very exciting. To think I get to do something that I truly LOVE and make a business out of it, seems like every persons dream. I feel very fortunate to be living the dream. It's because of all of you that I have made it this far and am looking forward to working with all of you in the years to come. Thank you for your patronage and for the ability to unleash my creativity.
