Wow .. time is just flying. I am so excited about all the orders that have come in since being featured on WCAX Made In Vermont .. Be sure to check in often as new pieces are being posted on here all the time. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to fit in golf with my "real" job, my painting and my flower gardens (oh yeah, and of course my 2 German Sheps) but it will all come together .. sometimes you just have to step away and swing the club.

I've been thinking about this for months, since I was on my way to work one day and got held up waiting for the train to cross. As I sat there .. initially annoyed that I was being delayed by 8 minutes for this train, I started to watch each of the box cars go by, with grafitti on them and the wheels started to turn in my own head as they turned on the train. I am going to try this .. a Vermont scenery with a train, that goes all the way around the bucket. Each box car will have something painted on it representing someting in my life .. maybe even graffiti style. This will be my example for others to think about putting pieces of their own life on one for a custom order. Stay tuned. Happy Spring everyone!

What's happened since being featured on WCAX Made in Vermont ..

Happy Spring everyone. It certainly is a breath of fresh air to wake up and hear the birds chirping outside. Well, it's been 2 weeks since WCAX Made in Vermont did a segment on Simply Said by Priscilla and I am so excited about all of the interest this has brought in. I am still running into people who are commenting about the piece - a very fun time for me. The orders are rolling in, the emails and cards from people commenting about it are too. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get my story out there. This was certainly something on my "bucket" list. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support!

Exciting News

As we embark in the prime of maple sugaring season, what better story to feature on WCAX Made in Vermont, than something about sap buckets? Well .. my story. That's right, I am going to be featured on WCAX Made in Vermont soon. Stay tuned for an update on when it will be aired. I am very excited to share my story of how I have a hand in helping to bring a little piece of Vermont into homes across the country.

I always hear this: "Everything takes 5 years to really develop and take off - you have to give something 5 years and at the end of 5 years, if it hasn't taken off, then you need to stand back and re-evaluate it". Well this month marks the beginning of the 5th year as Simply Said by Priscilla. I am very excited to see what this magical year will bring. Each year I have discovered something new to paint, something different to paint on and my business has grown in leaps and bounds each year - which is very very exciting. To think I get to do something that I truly LOVE and make a business out of it, seems like every persons dream. I feel very fortunate to be living the dream. It's because of all of you that I have made it this far and am looking forward to working with all of you in the years to come. Thank you for your patronage and for the ability to unleash my creativity.

It's a National Geographic kind of month

I have always been drawn to beautiful photography. It's not uncommon to find me browsing through the photos from National Geographic for sometimes hours. It's something that makes me feel happy. I'm a real big shutterbug and spend more time on the golf course snapping pictures than playing golf some times. But it's rare that I can get a "National Geographic" kind of picture - you know, the clarity and crispness of that perfect photograph. I finally took the plunge and bought myself a Nikon D5100 with 3 lenses and have already started exploring with it. I'd love to try and find a way to pull my photography into my works of art. Once I have a nice collection of photos, I'll likely be at least making photo greeting cards. There's a whole lot of learning that goes along with the fantastic photos though .. it's going to be a long, but enjoyable journey. Happy Birthday to me!

As we say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012, I'm wishing you and your family a healthy, happy new year. I will have plenty of new creations this year as I begin my fifth year as Simply Said by Priscilla. I'm excited to see what this year will bring. Christmas has come and gone

I can't even believe how quickly the Christmas Holiday came and went this year. This was my busiest Christmas so far with painting. Now that the hussle and bussle is behind us, I will be spending some time on some new creations. I have several recycled windows I am going to paint and will be introducing some new Christmas Tree ornaments later in the year as well. Thank you all who ordered something this year. Fall is upon us

It's hard to believe it is already Fall, one of my favorite seasons in Vermont. It is always this time of year that I become reinspired just by taking in the beauty of the season. No matter where you go when you live in Vermont, Fall is always sure to present breathtaking scenery. The leaves are turning and the bright reds and oranges are emerging. I have just acquired some windows that were taken out of an old colonial home in Proctor Vermont and am planning to paint some beautiful Vermont scenes on them. And of course .. I will be painting some new Fall scenes on Vermont sap buckets to display at the Fair Haven Welcome Center. Please be sure to stop in and take a peak if you are in the area.
